The Saturday of this year's Great Central Railway Autumn Steam Gala saw the first heavy rain of the Autumn during the morning, although it thankfully cleared to nicer weather late lunchtime.

This would be only my second visit to the line, my first being for the Winter Steam Gala in January 2010.

There were two guest engines, both locos that I had never seen before. They were:

BR(E) D49 No. 62712 'Morayshire', visiting from the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway in Scotland,
BR Standard 4 No. 76084, visiting from its current base at the North Norfolk Railway.

From the home fleet:

Southern N15 No. 777 'Sir Lamiel'.
BR Standard 2 No. 78019,
BR(M) Jinty No. 47406,
BR(W) Ivatt 2 No. 46521,
BR(M) 8f No. 48624,
BR 9f No. 92214,
GNR N2 No. 1744.
